The Retrospective Diary of an Atonement Extra - Part 2: Beach and Cinema Shenanigans

Opinion posted 4 months ago
Atonement
My sand pit...
And I'm back... I 'm gonna jump right into the actual filming I did, because there was a lot not even used in the movie, and it was quite cool.

Firstly I have to say just how enormous the scope of this was. The beach sequence in the movie is just a few minutes, but we were their for 3 days doing 'that' shot, and other bits and pieces, and with 1,000 extras all dressed exactly the same it becomes a fight to just get noticed by each other, let alone the crew. Thankfully they had given us groups... I was Blue group, which was the featured group. We went to the front of every shot,...

Ready for action!
Hi everyone.... a know a couple of people wanted to know who made this spot, it was me! I was an extra in the movie, and felt quite close to it, so I thought I'd share some of my experiences of filming... There is loads to talk about, and I have many photos from the Dunkirk set, so I'll probably do this in parts.

Lost

Of all the TV shows of the moment; Heroes, 24, Prison Break... there is a lot on offer, but Lost is arguably the most ambitious.

The concept itself expands with every episode and with every new question that is raised. With every season we get that little bit more insight into a world that is so familiar to us... yet appears so different. We have been truly blessed...

Lost, unlike other TV shows of the moment, is an experience of the highest calibre. An experiment of narrative techniques, and pacing that requires the involvement of its audience... but patience also....

A Curious Mystery - The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones
Crystal Skulls... where are they from? (photo courtesy of iwantyourskull.com)
Last night Shia Labeouf broke the silence of Lucasfilm, to reveal the title for the new Indiana Jones movie....

'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'

But what does this mean for our favourite Archaeologist/Hero? What will he be up against? Where will he be going? Most importantly... what is the 'Crystal Skull'?

Well there are actually 13 crystal skulls, all thought to be (on average) around 20,000 years old. Investigations into one of the existing crystal skulls garnered startling revelations. The skull itself had its age proven, yet the...

Okay, this has been brewing in me for a while and I think that now is the time to bring it all out into the open.... I speak of the burgeoning conflict that is the rating-to-comment ratio.

Lets break this down; On numerous occasions, I have added various links to many different sites, and always venture back to see what people think of the link, or their reaction to it (be that positive, negative, or even criticism towards me). But over the last few months it has become increasingly obvious that people are rating the link, but leaving no comment!
