I don't remember, exactly, how many decades ago it was, but I remember researching the famous comedy duo at one point. In a night club, Louis Cristillo was supposed to show up with another pertner to do a comedy act. Being under his real name, he had realized his partner had not shown yet & he was due to go on. William "Bud" Abbott was bartending that night and he was something of a humorist himself and heard about the issue with Louis' act.
