Actor Alan Rickman has been named as one of the Honorary Fellows of the University of Arts London.This conferments has been given to some of the most influential and inspiring names in art, fashion, performance and education. Here is what they have to say about Mr. Rickman:
Eminent actor and director Alan Rickman studied graphic design at Chelsea School of Art, graduating in 1964. After a stint as a designer, during which he co-founded design agency Graphitti, Rickman won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Graduating in 1974, he went on to receive critical acclaim for his roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Rickman has since gone on to appear in over fifty film and stage productions, including Truly Madly Deeply, Sense and Sensibility and the Harry Potter series, and has directed a number of award winning stage and film productions. His ability to play a spectrum of characters has made him one of the nation’s best loved actors. Rickman continues to act and is Vice Chairman of the RADA council.
