It dephines his movies. I think that one color became the new thing he should of kept with black & white. But also his color movies have a strange inoscence about them that freakes me out.
Done correctly, they can create more of an eerie feel with the lighting and shadows in the black and whites... create more of an unknown or sinister quality as it were.
His black and white films have all those brilliant shadows and cinematography which are lacking in his colors (though those are also fantastic, of course).
