Birthday: October 20, 1983 Age: 25 Birthplace: Herzliya, Israel Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Blonde (naturally brunette) Height: 5'4" (1.63 m) Religion: Judaism Birthstone: Opal Astrological Sign: Libra Element: Air Ruling Planet: Venus Chinese Zodiac: Pig Marital Status: Married to actor Marcos Ferraez • Alona speaks and sings fluent Hebrew as well as English and knows a moderate amount of Spanish. • She served in the Israeli military (Israeli Defense Forces) in the military theater before she started acting. • Alona recorded songs with Subliminal & The Shadow ("Hafinaly ") and Wyclef Jean ("Party To Damascus"). • The actress attended the both the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts in Tel Aviv and the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City before joining the Israeli army. • She starred in the Israeli film Lihiyot Kochav (Being A Star) as Lilach. • While filming Lihiyot Kochav she was offered roles on two Israeli TV shows; she took both roles. • Alona moved to New York to live with her sister and recorded a song with Wyclef Jean before flying to Los Angeles to film Veronica Mars. • She was Rob Thomas' second choice to play the lead role of Veronica Mars in the series named after the title character. • Alona guest-starred on a show called "Yes Or No" in Israel. • Her favorite foods are scallops and schnitzel. • She has 4 sisters; two older (full sisters), two younger (half-sisters). • Her first role was in a laundry detergent advertisement wearing a wedding dress. • She used to play the piano and is learning to play the guitar. • She is a dog person and loves taking her dog to the dog park. • Alona also loves her dogs a lot more than she loves television. • She had to serve for two years in the IDF as a requirement and didn't like it but she loves guns now; she is particularly efficient with Uzis. • She had to train to use the rifle in Supernatural, but was a quick learner. • She has a laugh when people say she's "unrealistic" with the gun (due to her role on Supernatural) without realizing she's an army chick for real. • Alona catches up on television with her sister because she never has the time to watch it or just flat out forgets to. • If she could work with any actor, it'd be Natalie Portman. • If she wasn't an actress, she would be a veterinarian. • She moved from Israel to the USA for the higher paying jobs. • Alona didn't know Jo was supposed to be inexperienced until her third episode (Supernatural 2x06 No Exit) at which point, she changed the way she played the character. • She was really hurt by the mean things people were saying about her and Jo, and yes she does read the internet and message boards, etc. • Alona got married to her husband Marcos Ferraez at SCAPA, an exclusive celebrations port, in Namal Tel Aviv on June 5th, 2007. • She was close friends with Marcos for three and a half years before marrying him. • They had been friends for a long while before their relationship bloomed into a romantic one. • She had been in Israel with her husband twice before their wedding took place. • The preparation for her regular role in Cane is a new experience for her. After the pilot for Split Decision wasn't picked up, she moved on and this is her first time acting as a regular character on a show. • At this point in time, Alona says she can't be picky about the roles she chooses. She's doing everything Hollywood offers her currently. • She doesn't like to do half a job when acting; she has to be on the set 100%. • Alona can't really see herself doing anything else as much as acting but she as moments of doubt. However, she tries to pass on them as they are only moments. • She says The Pursuit of Happyness was a good movie she watched recently. • Alona visits her family back in Israel at least every half year. • She picked up English from television when she was four years old and doesn't remember a time when she didn't speak it. • When she was in the IDF's military theater, she traveled to different bases and units to perform. • Alona wears contacts for vision. Without them, she's "as blind as a bat". • Until the age of 8, Alona learned Spanish from a maid that worked in her house. After she left, Alona had no one to speak the language with and so forgot it. She currently understands it and is learning how to speak it. • She supports taking care of the environment by donating money to environmental organizations, owning a Hybrid car and riding bicycles instead of driving. • She is more of a stay-at-home girl rather than a going-out type and does not want to be labeled a wild party goer. • Alona is an avid Frisbee player and participated in frisbee events back in Israel. |
