This is a great question, and one I've considered asking. I'm rather surprised (and disappointed) that there haven't been more replies.

I'm getting the sense that there's a lot of fans on Fanpop who don't participate in the voting that actually determines who stays on the show and/or wins, though at the same time there are some who work to game the system by voting as many times as they can figure out how to do so.

Can't, I'm in Canada. I DO vote for Canadian Idol though. I figure if I'm going to have to listen to it on the radio, I'd like to have the person I like the best. So far the ones I like haven't won, but they've gone on to have music careers and put out good albums.
