Who is mako?

Ive been watching "the tale of ba sing se" at iroh's part. He crying at front of the picture of someone. And there is a text: "in honor of mako". Who is mako?

Mako played Iroh in the show, but then died. They changed voice casts because of it.

Mako was Iroh's first voice actor. He died during the series' run and they got a new voice actor for Iroh for season three.
