The ORGINAL BARNEY DOLL USED IN THE BACKYARD GANG VIDEOS
I have been a Barney fan since I was 2.
I still am through not like I was when I was little.Everyday when I came home form preschool and then Kindergarten I would watch Barney on TV.Through my favorite Barney experiences was watching Barney & The Backyard Gang videos. I like to think of them as vintage, classic Barney. I loved everything about Barney, his voice and the songs and games he played with his friends. One of the things I used to do when watching Barney videos was to play right along with Barney and his friends.

For my 2nd Birthday my mom's friend's husband even dressed up as Barney because I had a Barney-themed party. Those were great days. Some day I wish I can turn back time.

But I must say I am very glad I can relive those wonderful memories each and everyday.

Two of my favorite videos were Barney Goes To School, Campfire Sing-along.

When I was six I went to see Barney live in concert. My mom and I had pretty awesome seats too! When I was a kid I also used to dream that I could own the original Barney Doll in the Backyard Gang Series.

That's how I feel about Barney The Dinosaur. I also think that the Backyard Gang Barney is the best Barney. By chance one day I was channel surfing and came by the newest season of Barney. I was shocked this Barney sounded awful!
I love Barney and the backyard gang version much better.

That is how I feel about Barney The Dinosaur.
If anyone feels the same please leave your comments!

Thanks STARWARSCHICK18!

This is so cute ... you're 19-years-old and you still love Barney. That's pretty cool. Just because we grow up, it doesn't have to mean we have to give up on some of the things we emjoyed as children.
My daughter adored Barney when she was little. In fact, I know there's still several Barney videos somewhere in the house.
I'm 45-years-old and I adore Winnie The Pooh and Humphrey B. Bear.
For those that are not Australian, Humphrey is an Aussie icon! He was created in the 1960s and played much the same role as Barney does - entertaining children in a fun and also educational way.
Good on you, don't give up what you truly enjoy just because you get a little older!

hey sorry for being a year late on this topic ( please forgive me )
but
i can concure with you on this STARWARSCHICK18 ,Cammie ,jedigal1990 because i also was introduced to barney during my preschool year but i was unfortunately introduced to the new age barney BUT i was moved into foster care later during that year and my foster parents took me to the library one day and i rented a video with a confused look because barney looked different than what i knew his as so call me a fool if you want to
i did spend years wondering why barney looked different so now that i turned 18 I happen to research the confusion that lingered and the barney you know and love is in common with my new respect for
Mr. Bob West
the man behind the the suit
he was the voice of the dear original barney
and barney has played a major role in what my morals are and how i live my life
and i hope someone will fight to renew to original VHS tapes so that the 4 of us and others who agree that we may pass the morals to our children so that they may come up to be in our mindsets today

if it is anyone's intent to contact me more on the perspective on what I've said please email me at
