This review is dedicated to Adam West, William Dozier, and all the wonderful people who helped make the show.

The first Batman show was just called Batman. The show started in 1966 and had 3 seasons as well as a film called Batman: The Movie (1966). There was also 2 animated films based on the show called Return of the Caped Crusaders (2016) and Batman vs. Two-Face (2017).

The Plot

Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson protect Gotham as the Dynamic Duo: Batman and Robin. The 2 heroes saved the city by themselves in the show's first 2 seasons, but Batgirl started helping them in the 3rd season. They...

The 1966 Batman live action is known for how goofy it is. Despite how campy the show was it had lots of genuine heart and great lessons.

1. Women can be crime fighters.

During the 1960s women were still not treated with proper respect. Thankfully the show's wonderful creator, William Dozier, helped things out by adding a female crime fighter to the show's third season: Batgirl. A lot of the show's female characters were easily tricked sidekicks to the male bad guys. The female sidekicks were a parody of what unfair men thought of women back in the past. Batgirl came along in the show's third...

The 1960's Batman television series is one of the greatest superhero adaptations of all time. One of the main reasons for the show's success was the gallery of villains. The show adapted Bill Finger's greatest villains, in addition to creating some new villains.

This article is for giving special attention to the villains that showed up the most. Counting appearances for the villains isn't as easy as it might sound. In season 3, the show developed a new formula where a new villain episode would show up at the end of an episode to set-up the next episode. In order to make things more fair and...

On January 12th of 1966, the world was given the gift of Batman's first television series. The show was created and narrated by William Dozier. To this day, the 1960's Batman show is my favorite show to star Batman. Although several great things have been done with the franchise, Adam West's Batman is the definitive one in my heart. The Batman show featured several iconic heroes and villains from the comics, but it also added several new characters. This article is about the best creations that the 1960's show gave us.

Chief O'Hara (played by Stafford Repp)

Chief O'Hara was a character that...

The first actor that played the Riddler was Frank Gorshin. The Riddler has been played by various actors who were very talented, but I think that Mr. Gorshin is the best.

The Riddler was in the first couple episodes of the 1966 Batman show. In those episodes Mr. Gorshin gave a scene stealing performance. His performance was so good that the Riddler ended up being the main antagonist of the first season. He actually showed up more than the Joker did in the first season. Joker and Penguin both appeared in six episodes (three arcs that were all two episodes long), but the Riddler appeared in 8...

Several actors have played Batman. There have been over five live action versions of Batman as well as various voice actors. People often discuss about which Batman actor is the best. I think that the best is Adam West.

1. Adam West stood out more than any other Batman actor

Adam West got to play Batman in a show that lasted over 100 episodes. That gave him plenty of time for his version of Batman to be memorable. Later on he got to voice Batman in cartoons which gave him a chance to play various versions of Batman. All of his performances as Batman are a memorable treat.

The other live action...

Burgess Meredith is the actor that played the Penguin in the 1966 Batman show. He was also in the 1966 Batman film.

Burgess Meredith's Penguin had a very important role on the show. Although the Joker is often called the main villain of the Batman franchise, but he had competition from the Penguin in the live action show. Cesar Romero and Burgess Meredith were both in 19 episodes of the show so it seems like the Joker and the Penguin are tied for being the main villain of the show.

The 1966 Penguin is one of the best versions of the Penguin. One of the main reasons for this is because of Burgess...
