Production is in progress. The guy who plays Jeff Gordon, Gary Oldman, announced that filming would start next year in 2010. "You didn't hear that from me..." he said. It os most likely to be shot completely on IMAX. The theme would be "Redemtion". Possible plots: (there are two main plots circulating) Founding of Arkham Asylum along with a break out of the patients. A mob has taken over Gotham City during the disapearance of Batman which leads to chaos. Possible romance with Selina Kyle/Catwoman as well as Talia Al Ghul, Rahs Al Ghul's daughter. Possible titles: Gotham Gotham City Arkham Asylum Gotham Knights Shadow of the Bat End of Days Redemtion The Caped Crusader of course: Nolan - Director and Producer Christian Bale - BATMAN (possibly co-writter) Micheal Cane - Alfred Possible villians and actors: The Riddler - Jonny Depp (he has expressed interest in the role) (that would be amazing) Catwoman/Selina Kyle - Angelina Jolie (also expressed interest, but a little old)(possibly Megan Fox, hopefully not) Harley Quinn - Hayden Panettiere (the one from Heroes, could she pull off crazy, in love with Joker?) Scarecrow - Jeffrey Combs (returning actor) Possible to return as an Arkham Asylum member Two Face - Aaron Eckhart (returning actor)(remember it was never certian he died after falling from the ledge, batman didn't, perhaps he just had a cuncusion, and became crazier?) There is no information on whether or not Joker will appear, or who could raplace the late Heath Ledger. (There will deffinately be mention) Talia Al Ghul - she will be interlinked with bruce wayne as well linked with the mob.(possibly seeking vengance for her father) The Black Mask - well associated with the Mob. Mad Hatter - some crazy The Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot (rumored to be Philip Seymour Hoffman , the one from Doubt, which I think would be pretty creepy but a fitting choice, but actualy said he had never been asked) is not included becuase of Nolan's disinterest in the character, him not having much interesting build up or point, frankly. He may be mentied as Oswald Cobblepot, and connected to the Mob. Robin/Batgirl are also not to be featured becuase of Bale's dissinterest in a sidekick not being needed for a young Batman (but maybe in a later sequal). Warner Bros would like a forth installment as well as a third!!!
