I must say the first season especially the mini series was great. But some of the story lines are getting to be boring, pointless or just off in left field. for example Pegasus and the new model of viper show up in season 2...HUH? how many times was the point that BSG survived only because of the old tech been stated previous? Why is it that there is a unlimited supply of vipers and Rapters? Why not continue on with the new model "stealth" ship made by the BSG crew? The story line was really good, but it seems that season 2 and now 3 are just filler. Did the writers only expect one season and when they were extended just say screw it and start pumping out shows that dont relate to the past at all?

Sad. Best new series in years down the tube.

I actually think Seson 2.0 and 2.5 are pretty good, if not excellent. There's not too much wrong with it.

Season three however...meh.

The Pegasus storyline was actually what got me to watch the show. We got the DVD in the mail, submitted for Emmy consideration, and were hooked. Then we had to go back and watch it from the beginning.

I think as any show matures it goes through changes. With BSG, it is particularly evident that Ronald D. Moore is not writing and directing as many episodes as he did in the first season - the story is still good, but the writing from episode to episode can vary from really strong to moderate. I have yet to see a bad episode, or one that I would rate as less than great (as you can see from here on Fanpop).

With season three, the series did make a big leap, from the claustrophobic confines of the fleet to the split storylines of the fleet and the occupied New Caprica, which frankly I found a bit disconcerting because (especially at the start of the season) they were trying to tell too many stories at once, so none of them got the attention they deserved. The show works best when focussing on one or two primary characters each episode, and thankfully the show has returned to that formula.

I have to agree with what Harold says. Season 2 has been awesome, although I can't speak fpr season 3, as I have to wait for the DVDs, being stick in Germany.

I thought that the Pegasus brought an interesting development, seeing how humanity also could have reacted, with a way less humane approach to the whole Cylon dilemma.

As in every series, some details may change, with new storylines changing facts that had been established before. But in my opinion, that doesn't make a series bad. It is simply proof that everything develops. A show would be boring if everything always stayed the same.

I can't wait to see what SEason 3 will bring. Fortunately, I have been able to avois any spoilers. I actually look forward to seeing what happens on New Caprica.
