La-La Land Records to Release Battlestar Galactica: Season 4 Soundtrack July 28



Burbank, CA - June 30, 2009– Universal Cable Productions presents Bear McCreary and the music from Battlestar Galactica for three nights at the House of Blues in San Diego from July 23-25th – during Comic Con! The concerts will be hosted by Admiral William 'Husker' Adama himself, Edward James Olmos (on Thursday and Friday) and Grace “Boomer” Park (on Friday and Saturday). The concerts will celebrate the July 28 release of a special 2-CD set, Battlestar Galactica: Season 4. La-La Land Records is releasing the Battlestar Galactica: Season 4 soundtrack through a license agreement with NBC Universal Television, DVD, Music and Consumer Products Group.

CAPRICA SOUNDTRACK TO BE RELEASED BY LA-LA LAND RECORDS

Composer Bear McCreary Scores Battlestar Galactica Prequel

(June 10, 2009- Burbank, CA) – La-La Land Records will release the soundtrack for Caprica on June 16, 2009. The two-hour pilot movie, released on DVD on April 21st from Universal Home Entertainment, launches the new series Caprica to air on the SCI FI Channel in early 2010. Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, Wrong Turn 2) composed the score for this Battlestar Galactica prequel. McCreary will be appearing in July at The House of Blues in San Diego during Comic Con. La-La Land Records is releasing the Caprica soundtrack through a license agreement with NBC Universal Television, DVD, Music and Consumer Products Group.

Bear McCreary is one of the top young composers working in Hollywood. This is really nothing since the series is over [sadly] and hasn't mentioned anything about this.
I was taking my Art History class one day and we were studying Greek art. Recently it was about statues during the Hellenistic period. One statue was called the Winged Victory of Samothrace [Nike]. When I read "Samothrace" I immediately thought of BSG [Sam and Kara more specifically]. Then I started going into more detail. The Winged part made me think of their "wedding ring" tattoos they have on their arms. They have the ring itself and then the wings that are attached. I can't really remember if they said the wings meaning something. The Victory could be a number of things. Sam and Kara both took part in finding Earth which could be considered a "victory."
Then of course there's Samothrace, but that's pretty self-explanatory; Sam and Kara, Kara Thrace.
None of this probably made any sense since I really suck at explaining things, but it got me really thinking. I was just very curious if this statue would have anything to do with the two of them or vice versa. While watching...
