Even if a girl doesn't date a lot of guys-- even if she only dates one guy, but "gives in" to his advances a little too easily (according to society and/or her friends), then she is often called "easy" or "a slut" and these are negative names (in case you weren't clear about that).

This is an ugly symbol of our still patriarchal-leaning society. It "blames" women for sexual indiscretions and frees men of the responsibility because "they can't help themselves" and women are supposed to not enjoy sex. So men are allowed to be sexually open, and women are supposed to stifle their sexuality.

But women shouldn't be ashamed of their sexuality. Women can and do have healthy sexual appetites, just like their male counterparts. Often, women who are called "sluts" are just more sexually active than societal norms (the norm being "stay a virgin your whole life" of course).

Double standards. Don't you love them?

Man-whore, He-slut, Himbo, player, cheater, man-hooker.........

A sex maniac because that's what he's after.

Another name for them is 'playboy'. It's not fair that men can 'play the field' and it's OK. But if a woman does, she's called all kinds of ugly names.
