-The pellinor series by alison crogon (the gift, the riddle, the crow the singing)
-Cherub series (too many to list) about how the english intelligence use's kids as spys. its not as corny as it sounds
-into older ones the sevent ancient wonders and the six sacred stones, which is like like more sophisticated science fiction, about a dark sun planning to destroy the world and where the sn gets really hot everything goes up in flames.
-da vinci code or angels and demons, the lost symbol.
-the tapestry series (the hound of rowan, the second seige)
-and the inheritance cycle (eragon, eldest, brisingr)
