the sookie stackhouse seris tarting with Dead Until Dark, Living Dead In Dallas, Club Dead,Dead To The World, Dead As a Doornail, Definitely Dead, All Together Dead, From Dead to Worse, Dead and Gone, the next one thats not out yet is called Dead in the Family. these are vampire books but if you dont like reading sexual scences or violance, dont read them. its also a tv show, trublood.
i cant think of any others though but both seris are brilliant.

obernewtyn series, the gateway triogy, darkfall series, greylands alyzon whitestarr (i definattely recommend)

others
-The pellinor series by alison crogon (the gift, the riddle, the crow the singing)
-Cherub series (too many to list) about how the english intelligence use's kids as spys. its not as corny as it sounds
-into older ones the sevent ancient wonders and the six sacred stones, which is like like more sophisticated science fiction, about a dark sun planning to destroy the world and where the sn gets really hot everything goes up in flames.
-da vinci code or angels and demons, the lost symbol.
-the tapestry series (the hound of rowan, the second seige)
