can you tell me the name, author, and a discription of the book would help to
thx guys
Here are a few late suggestions...I don't know how closely related to the Twilight Series they are but I think they are worth checking out.
First if you are going for a more fictional series there is always Wicked and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire.
Second are some classics that I enjoyed when I was younger The Giver and Number of the Stars by Lois Lowry. (WWII fiction).
And finally here are a few of my more recent reads, I loved the Green Mile by Stephen King, The Catcher in the Rye by Salinger, or Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
Ooh, aaricaburke, I just finished Confessions and The Giver! Very good taste in books :)
Anyhow, I'd check out Life of Pi, by Yann Martel. I'll be the first to admit it's pretty slow, but there's a lot to it and I think it's beautifully written.
Also Self by Martel, but that one's deffinatly 18A. Still, a great book.
And, like aaricaburke said, The Giver. It has two companion novels, too: Gathering Blue and Messeger. They're both really good.
Lastly, right now I'm reading Lullibies for Little Criminals by Heather O'Neil. I'm only about half way through it, but it's really good! It's an easy read and a compelling story. Check it out :)
Oh! And how could I forget Lord of the Flies? Everyone I kow who's read it had hated it... so maybe I'm the odd one out here, but I love that book!
heres two
The pellinor series By Alison Croggon(The first book is called The Naming in the us and The Gift everywhere else)
The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale
Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier. It's based loosely on "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" but she's added plenty of her own ideas. Definitly one of my favorite books ever.
Song Of The Sparrow by Lisa Sandell. Based on Arthurian legends, it follows the story of sixteen-year-old Elaine of Ascolat, known in legendary myths as the Lady of Shallot. It is written entirely in free verse poetry (but don't worry, it's read as a book) and it is sooo amazingly beautiful!
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. (First book of the Gemma Doyle Trilogy) I don't think that my description would do it justice, lol, so look it up! I very highly reccomend it!
I just finished a series not long ago about witches. It is alot like the twilight series. The author is Cate Tiernan. The name of the first book is Book of Shadows. Hope you like it.
My brother recommended to me the Night Watch Series by Sergei Lukyanenko. They're about the constant battle between Light and Dark (vaguely). I will warn you though, if you choose to check them out, some of the writing (especially the prologues)can be very confusing, but I'd chalk that up to the fact that the books were written in Russian, and the translator had a little trouble in parts. These books aren't really like Twilight, except for the fact that some supernatural creatures are involved, but I have read both series, and I liked them.
Abarat by Clive Barker
This book is good for both boys and girls but i think it mostly has horror.
The book is about a girl named Candy and she lives in the most boring place on earth- Chinkentown.
the book may start out boring at first but dont stop reading and dont read the 2rd one first (days of magic, nights of war)

good Luck! I hope these give you more ideas!!!
The Woman In Black by Susan Black, a horror story that stays with you.
Jeremy Clarkson's set of books, starting with his columns in book form.

Read Art Greeks and Prom Queens (I actually haven't read it but i heard it's very good :))
the Host by Stephenie Meyer
Little Women by Lousia May Alcott (Old, old book but still good)
