I've read The Hunchback of Dotre Dame (VERY depressing book, lol), The Three Musketeers, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Sherlock Holmes, a whole bunch of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens (if his books aren't "adult", I don't know what is...) Dr. Jeckle and Mr Hyde, Lord of the Rings (and yes, that is an adult book)...the list goes on for a while.
And in case you haven't noticed, those are all classics, too.
And if you think all those other children's classics I mentioned are only for "kids" and that adults have nothing to gain from them, then you CLEARLY have some growing up to do. Part of becoming an adult is "putting away the desire to be very grown up." --C. S. Lewis
