Booth and Bones

Excerpt:
“All rise.”
Brennan looked nervously at Booth. She knew he would be called to the stand next. She closed her eyes, begging silently that he would follow through with her plan, to give reasonable doubt as to whether or not Brennan herself could have committed the murder of Robert Kirby. There was no physical evidence connecting her to the crime, but this course of action could set her father free.
The trial had been dragging on for days now, and she hadn’t been able to work with Booth the entire time. He even had to stay at his own place until the verdict had been decided....

Excerpt:
Brennan’s arrival to the hospital was welcomed warmly by Cam, Zack, Angela, and Hodgins. Booth insisted on carrying her up to the room she was put in and refused to leave her side.
“I’m fine,” he declared. “I don’t need any more medical attention.” Truth be told, Brennan didn’t want him to leave either. She was still getting over the whole kidnapping ordeal, and she had something important to tell him. After her near-death experience, Brennan didn’t know if she could bear to have another opportunity slip away like she had let so many others.

Excerpt:
Brennan slowly came to, her head throbbing with a heavy, dull pain. She found herself duct-taped to a chair, her hands and feet also bound. Her father, similarly restrained, smiled gently at her when he saw she was awake.
"Glad to see your up," he said. "The bleeding from the wound on your forehead has finally stopped."
"Where am I?"
"Foreclosed warehouse on 35th street."
"Mmm." With a jolt, she remembered her partner. "Booth. Oh, God, Booth! No! I have to get out of here, I have to-"
