Alice: I'll play you for it. Rock, paper, scissors.
Edward: Why don't you just tell me who wins?
Alice: I do. Excellent.
I was on my first hunting trip with Edward and Alice. We were in northern California, in the forest.
Edward and Alice had just mauled a gazelle. They were trying to figure out what animal I would enjoy the most.
Edward had the gazelle slung over his back now, and was walking towards me. "Try this," he said, laying the gazelle at my feet.
I bent down, cautiously sipping the blood. "Blach!" I said, wiping my mouth. Edward grinned. "Guess not," he said. "Hmmm..."
"You don't like it, Bella?" Alice demanded. "Really?" Alice liked gazelle.
"Really," I said solemnly. I tried to get the taste of the gazelle off my toungue.
"Fine, then, if you won't enjoy it," Alice sniffed. She started to bend down. Edward put a cool hand on her arm. "I helped maul it just as much as you did," Edward protested. "More, actually. So don't you think it would be fair if I drank this one?"
"You don't even like gazelle," Alice protested.
"I like it enough," Edward argued back. "We can't risk drinking mountain lions today anyways. So this gazelle, therefore, is mine." He licked his lips and bent down.
"I'll play you for it," Alice told him. "Rock, paper, scissors."
"Why don't you just tell me who wins?" Edward snapped. They were getting very thirsty, and so was I, for that matter.
"I do." Alice said. "Excellent." she drained the gazelle completely of its blood in a matter of seconds.
