season 5 episode 7. After Buffy nearly loses a fight she asks spike for help we find out all about spikes history, notice in school hard season 2 spike says that angel was his sire, however in this drusilla is his sire. A mistake mr Whedon?

	tisha said: I don't think it was a mistake; Drusilla was really Spike's sire but since she was too insane to teach Spike anything, he considered Angelus to be his real sire. posted 7 months ago.

	scififan said: A mistake? Maybe. I've bounced around several theories, tisha's being one of them. Another is that Spike was reffering to Angel as his sire much the same way Dru refered to Darla as "grandmother" in Angel season 2, episode 7. Since Angle was Dru's sire, if he hadn't made Dru she wouldn't have made Spike. So, Angel is indirectly Spike's sire. He may have also been referring to Angel as "sire" as a term of respect. You get the feeling that even though Darla sired Angel and even though she's older, he ruled the roost when they were together. Just another interesting theory :) posted 6 months ago.
