Hopefully seeing things like this (with only 6% of voters liking the idea when I checked) will make those involved come to their senses

I voted no, because you can't do it without Joss. If Joss Whedon was creating the next generation, then I'd be interested and even be okay with knowing that none of the old gang are going to be there.
