Buffy and how its remembered.

Since its begining I have been a dedicated Buffy fan. Since the first fight in the Bronze, to the school blowing up, to the showtunes of Once more with Felling and to Sunnydale becoming nothing more then a giant crater.
This is how i remember a show that changed the the face of television however lately ive been wandering throuh fanpop and several other sites and Ive found something that bothers me.What I remember this show for its riviting storylines, in-depth characters and excellent plot twists but from the what ive seen lately this show might as well have been only about its couples.
Fans constantly try to show why Spuffy or Bangel are the best and although these were great couples and intresting story arcs Its my opinon that the show should be remembered for how you felt when Buffys mother died, Buffys showdown with The Master, Buffy sacrificing herself to save Dawn and the world only to be dragged out of heaven, these moments along with several more are what made the show for me not the will they wont they between Buffy and Spike, or Bangels forbidden affair (how ever i do admit Angel breaking up with Buffy in the sewers was an excellent scene). Like I said before the Bangel and Spuffy arcs were excellent story lines I just think the show could and should be remembered for so much more.

I love this show, for all the reasons you mentioned and more. The relationships just added even more depth to it. The fact that we do care so much about our selected relationship is just testament to the great writing and acting. And the debates, those are just for fun. In Fanpops Buffyland, we keep things relatively civilized when it comes to shipping, especially compared to certain other spots. Like Spike getting a soul storyline, that was because of his relationship with Buffy. Angel loosing his soul stoyline was also part of his relationship with Buffy. Half the storylines are because of the couples. I agree with nosemuffin. Though I don't believe you need to like both character's to like a couple. I don't like Buffy half the time, but I'm still a hardcore Spuffy fan. I don't just debate couples in Buffy, I could debate any storyline, and the couples and the storylines are part of the reason I love Buffy so much, and because they can show intense devotion is a testament to how good the show was. posted 3 months ago. last edited 3 months ago
