Dr. Foster hung up the phone with a dejected look on her face. Her husband had just told her he was going to be in late that night, but from his tone she could tell he was lying. In the past few months, her husband had been lying nonstop about staying in late. Dr. Foster didn’t want to assume the worst, but she could tell he was having an affair.
“Everything all right?” Dr. Cal Lightman asked in a British tone, looking at Foster. She looked away.
“Alec is going to be in late tonight,” Foster sadly said, sitting in a chair. They were in Cal’s office, talking.
“I’m sorry,” Cal muttered, putting a hand on her arm. Foster smiled weakly at him. “Look, Foster,” he began. Cal didn’t want Foster to get hurt when she figured out Alec was cheating on her, but he didn’t want to hurt her now.
“Cal, I know Alec is cheating on me,” Dr. Foster replied, looking at Cal Lightman, who looked at the floor.

After going through and re-watching a few episodes, I noticed a few small things about the scenes with Cal and Gillian. I decided to make a small article about the observations I’ve seen. This is basically my opinion, so if you don’t agree with it, that’s fine. Oh, by the way, if you haven’t watched all thirteen of the episodes, there will be spoilers. Some observations might be things that you already noticed, so this might just remind you about all of the Callian moments that they had. Well, enjoy!
Observation #1: The touching. I was glad at the end of ‘Sacrifice’ when Alec was basically out of the picture (they’re not actually divorced yet, but still…)! Cal and Gillian looked like they could start making-out any minute…but they were once again interrupted by Torres. Before Cal left, however, they were touching each other, like in a few of the previous episodes (‘Blinded’, for example). It started out with Cal touching her shoulder, then Gillian touched his chest, and it ended with Cal patting her knee (or as some people believe, he might have been handing her something…). Anyways, I remembered...

The Alec Foster Speculation
He's a cheating loser!
Probably the most popular of all the Alec Foster theories and the only one with some semblance of hard evidence to back it up, is the theory that Mr. Foster is cheating on poor Gillian. What have we got to prove ourselves? Well, for one, Alec seems to get awfully jittery when Cal comes around. Gee, why would Mr. Suave get the goosebumps when a world renowned lie-detector drops in (unless he doesn't want anyone to know about his bed-wetting mishaps!)
Ria notices the signs from episode one that Alec is lying to Gillian's face. Most cheater's I've known aren't too keen on letting their partners in on their escapades, either. Cal has even caught him on the phone (Episode 4, 'Love Always') telling someone on the other end "I love you, too" who is most certainly NOT Gillian. Sick mother, perhaps? Yeah . . . sure.
Alec's secretary is another character to be scrutinized. When Gillian drops by for an impromptu visit at the State Department, his secretary gets the same skittish eyes and tone when she questions the whereabouts of her husband--and Gillian sees it. Yeah, I'm sure he's...
