Dr. Foster hung up the phone with a dejected look on her face. Her husband had just told her he was going to be in late that night, but from his tone she could tell he was lying. In the past few months, her husband had been lying nonstop about staying in late. Dr. Foster didn’t want to assume the worst, but she could tell he was having an affair.
“Everything all right?” Dr. Cal Lightman asked in a British tone, looking at Foster. She looked away.
“Alec is going to be in late tonight,” Foster sadly said, sitting in a chair. They were in Cal’s office, talking.
“I’m sorry,” Cal muttered, putting a hand on her arm. Foster smiled weakly at him. “Look, Foster,” he began. Cal didn’t want Foster to get hurt when she figured out Alec was cheating on her, but he didn’t want to hurt her now.
“Cal, I know Alec is cheating on me,” Dr. Foster replied, looking at Cal Lightman, who looked at the floor.
“I’m sorry,” Cal repeated, standing up and walking over to Foster. He put his arms out in a hug, and Foster stood up and hugged Cal. They stood there for a couple of minutes, holding each other. Neither wanted to break the hug but Foster looked up and Cal and leaned forward to kiss him.
Cal did the same and leaned forward to kiss Foster. Their faces got closer and closer until their lips touched. Foster wrapped her arms around Cal. Cal’s hand caressed Foster’s back as the two kissed passionately.
They stumbled backwards, and Foster lay down on the couch. Cal lay on top of her and kissed her neck. Dr. Foster kissed back and pulled off Cal’s jacket. She softly nipped at Cal’s ear, and Cal sighed pleasantly at the sensation. He stroked her chest and breasts, and Foster moaned loudly. She began to unbutton Cal’s shirt when Ria Torres, a new recruit to the Lightman group, walked in the room.
Cal jumped off of Foster and she jumped up and stood next to him. Ria had a bemused look on her face.
“That, Dr. Foster, is how you give mouth-to-mouth CPR with someone.” Cal lightheartedly said, grabbing the folder Ria was carrying and walked out of the room. Ria followed him and Foster watched Cal leave, a smile on her face.
