After play testing Starr Harold and I found it lacking, so we started playing with the rules and making a few modifications. What we ended up with is, I believe, a game based-on (and very similar to) War, but with a distinctive strategic component. The game also plays faster than War.

Objective
For one player to win all the cards.

Setup
The rules are for two people with a standard 52-card deck. Ranking of cards are A, K, Q, J, 10 through 2.

The deck is divided into two halves with all the red cards (hearts and diamonds) in one pile and the black (spades and clubs) in another. The individual players then shuffle their decks and present them to be cut by their opponent. Once the decks have been shuffled, neither player may look at their cards or reorder them.

Starting Player
The starting player is determined at random or by result of a contest of the players choosing.

In response to Harold's War Challenge, I present my updated rules for the classic children's game War. Since I can name the game whatever I want, I chose Starr. 5 points to whoever posts a comment correctly guessing the reason for the name. I dunno if these rules will make the game faster or slower to play, but at least there's some mental exercise and decision making involved.

Objective
For one player to win all the cards.

Setup
The rules are for two people with a standard 52-card deck. Ranking of cards are A, K, Q, J, 10 through 2 (with suits ignored).

The deck is shuffled by the dealer and cut by the other player. The deck is fully dealt out, alternating cards, to result in 26 cards per player. Neither player may look at their cards or reorder them.

Rounds
On each turn, each player flips over one card to compare against the other player's card value. The player may choose to flip either the top card or the bottom card unless the previous card was drawn from the bottom (then the player must draw from the top). The...

A good hand. "Indian Blitz!"
Introduction
Sheep's head is a popular 5-player card game which my friends and I played constantly in college. It originally came from 19th-century Bavaria as "Schafskopfen", and collectors can find versions of the original, specialized card deck available online. However, the modern version is played with 32 cards of a standard poker deck, each with a different point value and strength. The object of the game is to win the most points by winning hands, which have various point values and multipliers. Simply put, each hand is won by taking tricks of cards with high values.

Players
Sheep's head is played with 5 players. There are supposedly variants that involve different numbers of players, but I won't discuss that here.

The Deck
The deck consists of a normal deck of cards with the 2s through 6s removed. This should leave 32 cards, 7 - A.

The Deal
Figure out who will deal first (dealer rotates clockwise in subsequent hands). The dealer should deal 6 cards to every player, in any order wished, as long as you do not deal the entire six cards to one player at a time. For instance, you could...
