She's leaving because of a creative decision by the writers, whatever that means. I guess all we can take from that is that it's not Jennifer's decision to leave.
This is what I've heard: It was a creative decision by the writers and KJ/DS to write Cameron off. She's not going to be killed off, as they want to keep opportunities open for her to hae a guest appearance later in the season. Since they're not killing her off, we can only extrapolate one thing: Chase and Cameron are most likely going to get a divorce. I'm going to paraphrase something someone wrote in the EW.com message boards: It's just cruel for the writers and producers to do this to Jennifer Morrison. Last season, she had five episodes in which the Chameorn relationship was a major factor, meaning that she had a multitube of scenes with/about Jesse Spencer, her previous fiance. She worked through being engaged to him, fighting, and then getting married. Based on the acting and pure emotion in those scenes, she's clearly a professional, but we all know how much it must have hurt her. As season 6 starts, she and Jesse Spencer are playing newlyweds, which will be equally awkward for her and him, but we all know that they will work through it. To make her have to go through all of this, only to write her off (she DIDN'T quit, she WASN'T fired) is cruel and horrible.
