Well, I used to go when I was little, because my family's religious convictions weren't as strong as they are now. When I was like 8, I stopped going, because of Christianity. Now, hope you don't take that the wrong way. For my entire life, me and my family have been strong Christians. My parents were both basically raised in the church, and my mom has really fostered Christian religion in my life. When I said that our Christian convictions weren't as strong, I didn't mean that we weren't Christians at all. So, now instead of celebrating Halloween, we have family-night-out, and go get pizza, and see a movie at the movie theater. It's a lot of fun! I guess if you choose to trick-or-treat just for the candy, it's not really fully supporting the holiday, but you have to walk the fine line of people who take it into the wrong perspective. I'm sure if you're a dedicated Christian, than you know where to draw the line, as far as the devlish and dark aspects of the holiday. I hope my answer was enlightening. If you have any comments, good or bad, please add them! Thanks!

Well, my family stays in and watches a movie. Plus, if you only like Halloween for the candy, you can do what I used to do: just go out and buy the candy. Sure it'll cost you a few bucks, but it's worth it :]

well, I did when I was younger. My brother still does. I don't really see how it's wrong. The Church hasn't taken a position on it saying it's bad or it's ok, so I don't really see what's wrong with it. I mean, you dress up and go out to strangers' houses to get the free candy they're giving out. It's not getting piercings or tattoos or something like that. It's not stealing. It's just fun. If someone does know why exactly it could be considered wrong, could ya tell me?

Hmmm.... Tricky one this. I think it's fine as long as you don't indulge in the darker side of Halloween; that is, to dress up as something demonic or evil. For example, this year if I get invited to a Halloween party I'll go as a Samurai :)

oh jeez, go get candy! the thing is, it's not bad to go trick or treating, whats bad is celebrating the true reson of the celebration, (which cant realy be called a celabration) so go nuts, just make sure you dress up!

If the pagan roots of the holiday bother you, consider this-- The other name for Halloween is "All Hallows Eve," because it's the night before All Saints Day, a Christian holiday. Also, it's OK to indulge in a bit of the spookiness on Halloween. Years ago, before television and the Internet, families would gather together on Christmas Eve and tell ghost stories. Perfectly Christian families. If you're the type of person who gets upset when their child celebrates Hanukkah with their Jewish friend, or burns Harry Potter books, then maybe you won't be big on Halloween. But if that's the case, then in my opinion, your missing out on a lot of God's great gifts in life. |

I think that you should be carful and to try and research more about it because haloween isnt as innocent as as it seems. Little things like trick o treatin and celebrating at parties, even though you might look at it in a differnet way its still celebrating in a way haloween (a pagan festival)
