My Testimony

Well, I've been on Fanpop for a while, and now I think it is time to tell my testimony.

I was born into a Christian family, went to church every week, and "accepted" Jesus when I was 8.

Did I understand, no, I wasn't a Christian, I still did the things of the world, I sinned, I had a short-temper, and I didn't care.

My short-temper was horrible, no one would play anything with me, without me getting angry at them for changing the rules, making up the game, or cheating. The actions from resulting from my temper caused me to sin alot.

Well, my family eventually moved, and I was ok with it, b/c it was a new start for me. Well, that summer, they sent me to a Christian summer camp. I almost got expelled, a bully instigated my temper, and we got into a fight. Well, from there on out, I listened to what they said, and basically the message God will forgive your sins sounded good to me, although I didn't do anything about it.

When I got home, I prayed, I gave everything to Him, I knew I was a sinner, I believed Jesus died on the cross for my sins so that I could be saved and forgiven.

It felt really good, I confessed my sins to Him (including my short-temper), and was saved. I started reading my Bible, paying attention in church, coming to know and love Him, and praying.
The one thing I prayed for most was for my short-temper to go away, and to give me patience.

Christian summer camp again, my temper was improving, but I did lose it 3-4 times there during sports. but I kept praying, kept praying kept praying.

Christian summer camp again the next year, It was probably the best year of my life, God gave me patience, I never lost my temper, and from that year to today, I only lost it about 2 times (a time span of about 4-5 years). That year at summer camp I never lost it, and really followed the Lord. Now at this camp, there is this really great award for only one camper (out of 200+) can get, goes to whoever has the best attitude in the camp during the week. Out of 200 campers, I got it.

I went from being a camper who could've got expelled the first time at camp to the best camper in 2 years. And it was all God.

With Him, I now have the most patience in my class at school, life, (with my brothers), and it is good.

Hopefully this helps others to understand what I've been through, what God has done for me, and everything I've been through. If not, then that's ok too.

I love hearing people's testimony! Though, I've never given mine...

I thought this was a great article, but I would like to point something out (and this is just something I nit-pick at), your grammar. I know that's not important, I just found a few mistakes, no biggie.

5 stars!

I used to many commas didn't I, I have a problem with comma splices, it's just so hard to use that period often.

Lol! No, it wasn't your "lack of commas". In fact, I saw places where you were missing commas. I'll bet you'll be happy to know I didn't find any run-on sentences while reading this, and if there are, it's alright!

Maybe a bit of God, and a bit of your own doing? Cant credit it all to him, when you obviously worked on it yourself. :)

I not only credit God with helping me overcome it, I know it was all Him. B4 I tried to do it, but failed everytime, after, I could see a major change, in my actions, patience, and even way of living.

P.S. I saw this article in the feature article section on the homepage. Awesome!

Well you see I gave you a prop and clicked the prop link in your props from Shadow and I became curious about what Testimony you are talking about. Anyway, great testimony, I have a terrible temper (mostly in my family) too but I would not pray to Jesus.. I would pray to Allah.. Ok the main point is your article is nice and I gave it a 5 because you deserved it :)
