I love them all but Horror of Dracula (the first Dracula movie) is still my favourite. When I was a kid the Hammer Horror movies used to screen here in Australia every Saturday night and I used to go to my room and sit in the total dark to watch these horror flicks alone. I think my parents were concerned (ah!) but I have to say i never had one nightmare as a result of spooking myself out.
I watched them as a kid too. It's Christopher Lee's fault that I got fascinated by vampires. Although he doesn't have much to say in 'Taste the Blood of Dracula', this one is a near tie for me. I love how they portrayed the hypocrisy of the classes in this one.
Ladies, I must agree with you. The first is the best! I've always been a Dracula fan and Horror of Dracula is one of my all-time favorite takes on the legend. Christopher Lee was amazing! I love his "death" scene where he completely disintegrates into dust and all you see remaining is his ring. I'll never forget that image.
