Where should we smoke?

paperclip posted on Jan 30, 2008 at 05:33AM
It's happening globally, the areas for smokers is getting smaller and smaller... If it was my call they should at least have one to two accessible rooms for smokers in buildings except if it's a medical facility.

In public areas, well why not just make rules about the littering and puffing on other people's face? I mean sure it is rude to smoke on public transpo... but nowadays they even tell you not too even if your in big freakin' space, meters away from another stranger.

Here is my issue:

I remember when we could even smoke while in the Hospital. What people are failing to see is that the incidence of Cancer and auto-immune disorders is actually rising in pace to the outlawing of cigarettes... not decreasing. And yet the blind sheep of the World keep bleating. It amazes me no end.

No government should be able to tell a business owner whether or not they can allow people to smoke. If I open a business with MY money on MY property & I have a sign stating such, then people who do not like smoking can choose to go to a business that does not allow smoking...

It is insanity the way people are just rolling over and jumping on the bandwagon to hand over their freedom of choice.

We should all do what Germany is doing... just freakin light up in spite of the bans.

In parts of Germany, the courts are starting to go against the National ban and rule that the bars can indeed allow smoking....

I definitely agree that it should be up to the owner of the business rather than the government.
Even before I started smoking I had no problem with there being smoking sections, and non-smoking sections.

They even "banned" smoking in the apartment complex I live in now. I just don't understand that, it's my apartment that I pay rent for, why should it matter to them whether I smoke or not in here? I still smoke in my apartment, and they haven't said anything to me, so obviously they can't even tell.
