When would you say Classic Disney stopped being made?

im sorry but you are just terribley wrong. disney masterpeices can be live film ie mary poppins and bedknobs and broomsticks. You CANNOT count chicken little in as a masterpiece its new its tacky and on one level.

I would say when around the new millennium. But thats just me.

I think classic disney movies are pretty much the list kathiria82 minus the live films, and computer animated moveis. I think the classic disney movies are the ones that are animated (Through drawing).

Netdiva, I got that from an actual link not myself. So you are basically saying that Disney doesn't know what they are talking about.

I thought that "Disney Classics" was a subjective sort of definition, so I'm a bit confused as to the above list (Kathiria's post).
If I was to pinpoint a Classics / non-classics point, I'd say up until Pocahontas. Or Maybe after Mulan. I really liked that movie :)

The "technical" list that I'm using (otherwise, there's no point to stop at, for picks and videos and links and such) is the Official List of Fully Animated Disney Self-Proclaimed Masterpieces.

Which list are you using Kate? The link I provided is the one Disney released. Disney is the one that decides which movies go into the Masterpiece collection, it has nothing to do with how long a film has been around.

I think the classics stop after Mulan. Films after that might be good but not classics in my opinion. Although it did annoy me that they tried to make Mulan into a new Disney Princess, stick with the originals!

Lots of people think that they should stop after Mulan, but I really liked Tarzan and The Emperor's New Groove.

I think tarzan is part of the list, but not the emperor's new groove.. but that's just me.

In my opinion...
Looking at a chronological list, conviently located on Wikipedia, I'd say that it Disney stopped with the classics in the early 1990's. In the mid-late 90's, they started with the sequels, remakes and so on. No more originality. *sigh*

I think the last classic was Tarzan.

I've made an article recently with the list, the disney classics canon is on going, the newest additions will be Bolt, The Frog Princess, Rupunzel etc.

tarzan was the last classic movie ,since the 00's came they weren't anymore except for enchanted cause i count that as a classic ,.modern tale

Tarzan was the last classic disney movie for me too, even when i liked The Emperor's New Groove a lot, everything after Tarzan wasn't a classic disney tale imo

i consider every film that is in the offical "DISNEY CLASSICS CANON"list to be a disney classic. I posted an article with the list on it, the list was created by disney. And also Tarzan is considered to be the last disney film to be within the disney renaissance era (1989-1999) NOT considered to be the last disney classic. All sequels are not considered to be disney classics except for The Rescuers Down Under and Fantasia 2000
