There are loads of other post-1980 Shakespeare films I haven't added yet; please feel free to add them!
And for anyone who is currently studying Shakespeare, his works truly are more to be watched than read. To help you study (given, of course, after you have read them) watch one or two movie adaptations. They really help you cement the plot and characters in your mind and it's a good study tool to compare any differences in the movie to the play.
Plus, Kenneth Branagh is a dreamboat and therefore many of these movies has an added bonus, besides being dang good.
10 Things is marvelous - one of my favorite teen movies ever (I'll have to check if it's adequately represented in the spot), but for me this was a toss-up between "Richard" and Branagh's "Hamlet". As less abridged, I hae to go with "Hamlet", even though Branagh's films are barely "adaptations". We should do a question involving just films that change the setting of the piece, and compare those.
I would argue that to a degree, they are all adaptations given that they had to undergo some degree of transformation for the movie camera as opposed to the original stage.
Holy crap, that's wordy.
