Well, she said Twilight was started by a dream she had..

It's not in the book but here's how she pictured Bella:

Aside from her not having straight hair (unless she used a curling iron), Smeyer matches the description perfectly.

actually stephenie meyer wrote twilight from a dream she had and it's also based on her own transition from high school to college.
