I'm guessing that because Tim Burton has such a big reputation, a lot of people will go to see almost anything he's been involved with.
Personally, I had seen a couple of Ed Wood's films by that time, and wanted to see what they'd do with a story about him. I'm glad I did, because I really enjoyed it. Another great role for Johnny Depp.
Also interesting, the real life father of 'Drusilla' from the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' series, got to portray 'Dracula'... I mean Bela Lugosi... could they both be vampires???

I'm not really into Tim Burton films. I was interested in Ed Wood as a director, he has such a reputation for being a bad one.

Even though Wood was coined "the worst", I've always at least been entertained by all of the movies of his that I've watched. From what I've seen over the years, he is far from the worst!
As for Burton, I haven't seen all of his films yet, and there's a few that I'm not sure I want to.

It all kinda depends when you were born, like if you were alive when Ed Woods movies were made then you would see it for that, if you were young and alive when Burton started his career than you would go for that, me, I wasn't alive for Ed Woods movies but I still would rather see the movie for Ed since its about him and I like his kinda stuff and it didn't really seem like the usual Burton movie.

I think I first discovered some of Ed Wood's films about 2 or 3 years before the Burton film came out. I never saw any of them when they first came out. The movies I've seen are ones I own on VHS, speaking of which, I think I still have one that I haven't watched yet.

But kinda all of the above. I love Ed Wood, plus I love Tim Burton movies and am a fan of Johnny Depp so I was really excited when it came out!

I can't argue with that, ebathory.
If you can, you should add that as a choice.
