David Archulleto Needs to win.

Whatever.. There is no reason why Archie should win. Cook actually goes out on the line to mix stuff up and make it his own.. The only thing Archie is good for is ballads and that's all he can do. Cook can do Rock and Slow. Archie is way to young and has no personality. He is boring and very difficult to watch.

Yeah, I agree with fundog. Archuleta has a nice voice and all, but what can he do besides ballads? I don't see much variation to the kid and to be quite honest, he bores me. But David Cook has range and isn't afraid to take some risks. I think David Cook will do better than Archuleta in the end, even if he doesn't win the competition.

I don't think Archuleta NEEDS to win. He is popular enough that he's going to get a record deal no matter what. Same for Cook. And honestly, sometimes the American Idol runner-up does better than the winner. So really, they both have it made, and neither of them NEED this. It's just an awesome acheivement, and Cook is my favorite of the two (though Archuleta is really sweet and is truly talented as well - Cook is just more my style), so I voted for him.

David Cook rocks and although Archie is good for his age he became boring and predictable with his vocal runs his stage presence can use major help too! David cook was fresh and new and awesome! Man he rocks!

i dont see david as versatility at all. he sang a slow boring ballad every week and when he tried to something else he sucked. so i dont think he should have won. David Cook is just everything i could ever wish for!!!!!

While I love Archie for his sweetness and his absolutely gorgeous voice, I admit that his performances get a little tiring after awhile. And I think you've got it backwards. Cook has much more of a stage presence than Archie does IMHO. When Cook is on stage, I HAVE to watch him because he just takes up the screen. When Archie sings, I sometimes find myself getting distracted from him. And I would rather NOT have Archie become the next Miley Cyrus. I feel he can do MUCH better than that with his truly god-given talent. And I don't think I've ever seen Cook look uncomfortable on stage, his genre or not. He's confident enough that he can get fully behind whatever he does and give it his all. Cause he's awesome like that. lol. I say congrats to the both of them for making it to the finale because they both deserved to be there. But Cook has been the most consistantly unique and just drop dead amazing in his performances and I for one am ECSTATIC that he won. I wish both him and Archie long lasting and long reaching careers.

and yeah.. cook's album was completely self produced. he has recording equiptment in his basement and used that to create "analog heart"
i personally am a cook fan. archie is.. okay.. but i think archie's voice needs to mature a little more.
