Dead before its time.

Dead Like Me was a show with a unique, sort of depressing sense of humor. I like that kind of humor, and you don’t get much of it.
The show really suited me with its whole "life sucks, you die, and it still sucks" theme.

George was a great and interesting lead character. A girl who hated life, died, and still hated it. I really enjoyed watching her character develop over the episodes, and wish I could have seen more. I liked her back-story, and the whole thing with her family, it was a bit separate to the rest of the show, but still interesting to watch.
Two other interesting characters were Rube and Mason.
I liked Rube because he was a bit of a mentor to George, he treated her really well. His attitude and back-story were interesting, as well as him being unintentionally funny.
Mason, well that guy just makes me laugh.

I really liked where the show was going in season 2. As well as the growing characters, they were suddenly starting to unfold the mystery of those creatures. They started crossing the boundaries of death, and I just couldn’t wait to see where it was all going, wish I could.

A good show that could have gone far and should have done.

I just caught the show recently on Hulu, and rented the DVD movie.
I will buy them for support. I have signed the petition to bring the show back. (sorry, I don't have the url, but you can probably search engine it).

The movie was mediocre but I took it as a sounding board to start the series up again. I have several addresses to submit my screenplays for series three to, but could use any you have. I was unable to obtain an address for the Showtime Network-which the series was created for-because they don't take unsolicited manuscripts. So, I'll send my season 3 input to SyFy and others.
My first episode screenplay is written. I think it came out quite well, as did my husband. I have a hard time writing the swearing, but it's just a part of the show-made out to be no big deal.
I also have enough material for about 9 episodes. Anyone want to read a portion of my Series Three, Episode One screenplay manuscript? I'm new here, so I'm not sure this comment area is the place to do it. I want to do it on an area of the site where people can Yay or Nay the material or make constructive criticism.
If you like it, try to let MGM or SyFy or some big wig know and where to find it when I post it. If I don't post it here in comments, I'll come back and note where I posted it. Let's give "Dead Like Me" a Rebirth!

REBIRTH:
I posted a large portion of MY amateur screenplay of scene one for episode one of a (hopefully) third series. Entitled, "Passing the Baton." I started a topic on the Forum site noting the "Rebirth of the Series." With my writing, I tag myself "coppertop" and in conjunction with my username undeadlikeme so others can't take claim to it. Go to the forum topic and let me know what you think!
