i think we all know the obvious pros to a plastic bag ban but straight to the point short article also points out some of the cons to using paper and other types of bag

I hate the plastic bag ban. I reuse plastic bags all the time. They are a big part of my life. I hardly ever throw out a plastic bag, but now the government is trying to force me to change. I warn my government (British Columbia) if they get rid of plastic bags, I will find some way to get more to use. Just to throw it in their face!
I dont know how this has had an effect on plastic bag use in germany but here they normally cost 10 (euro-)cents. Everybody of course went crazy when they started charging for plastic bags but most people I see carry re-usable canvas bags/ baskets etc.
But they still use a lot of the small ones for vegetables,fruit,bread etc.
I collect my plastic recycling in those and rarely throw them away.
tvman - i'm sure you still eventually throw them out once you've reused them, and they still sit in landfills, polluting the earth for hundreds of years.
