I have a very cute chihuahua called Holly!
She is so cute! She is still a puppy. There's a lot of other dogs that look like her. We got her from a dog shelter. Her mother was a stray. She was the runt of a litter of five so she is quite small. When we bought her she was the only one of her litter left in the shelter, the rest had already been adopted. She loves to swim in the shallow (very shallow) end of our pool. Well, she doesn't exactly swim she just waddles. She loves getting wet for some reason. When ever we get the hose out she jumps in front of it. In the picture she is still very young, that was what she looked like when we adopted her.

I learned the lesson that some new dog owners learn when I bought my first dog. I had had childhood dogs, but I was ready for a small housedog that I could care for all on my own. After being in such a hurry to get one, I visited a pet store and found a cute litte fur-ball. I had done some research on the kind of dog I wanted, but this particular weekend I ended up buying a dog from a breed I knew nothing about. A papillon.
The pet store employees gave me a lot of misleading information, I guess to make sure they would make the sale. I was told that he would shed one time, then never again, wrong. I was told he had already been neutered (he was about 8 weeks when i bought him), that also was untrue. He was the last of his liter so I'm sure he was the runt. I have went through a lot with this dog, but I love him because he is worth the trouble.
I wonder though if he is really a full bred papillon or if he is mixed. I have his papers from the pet store, and where he was bred, but he has not turned out to look like the butterfly dog he was supposed to. If anyone owns a papillon or knows more about the breed and can give me more information please do. Look at the...

Dolly
|
Recently I wrote a book about a dog. It is the life story of a stray dog, the struggles she faces, and her hopes for survival that keep her going. She is an American Eskimo Dog named Dolly who is born in the forest. She grows up learning the ways of the forest and how to survive, but when she sees a human house nearby, she gets curious and visits it. She was always told before she left the barn to stay away from the houses, but Dolly did not think they were bad. Dolly does not think it is bad until she is taken to a vet clinic.
Lost in this new world, she is confused and she just wants to return home. While Dolly is at the clinic, she meets another dog, a mixed breed named Stella. Stella has been through a lot and tells Dolly all she needs to know. Dolly wants to get back to her forest, and Stella finally agrees to go with her. So when they escape, they are lost in the big city. Little does Dolly know that she is really far away from home.
Years pass and Dolly struggles through life, discovering more about life than many other dogs who just worry about when their next meal will be. Dolly discovers that not all humans are good, and cruelty is all around...
