First, "Hector does go rug" is a lame anagram. You want a better anagram for Gregory House? "Huge ego, sorry."

Chapter Three
Shocking Admission

By the time Wilson returned pushing the gurney, House appeared to be sound asleep, lying down on the sofa. He frowned, biting his lower lip as he considered his options. He hated to wake him when he had just fallen asleep, but he knew better than to think that he could lift him onto the gurney by himself.

Positioning the gurney beside the sofa, he crouched down in front of his friend, reaching out a hand to gently shake his shoulder.

"House...come on, I need you to wake up for a minute..."

I'm talking of course about the lack of explanations given for House's supposed attempt to kill Chase on the episode House Divided.

My first reaction to that scene was "what the hell?!?!". It has never been hinted that House either likes or dislikes Chase any different than any of the other ducklings (old or new), so why on earth would he ever want him dead? I thought it was really lame at the momment, and since I couldn't find a good explanation for it I decided to ignore it and pretend it never happened.

But weeks later, after watching Both Sides Now, I finally found an explanation that not only made sense to me but also fit perfectly and could've been a hint of what was going to come (if you squint :P).

House doesn't do well accepting other people's joy and contentment, he's not the type to be happy for you, he almost seems to find it comforting to know that most people have some degree of misery, probably because then his even bigger misery isn't so out of place, would mean it's practically a human condition to have a bit of misery, he might be more miserable than the majority of the people but not by much.

"I like this view." House said as he sat a top the roof of Ariel's apartment building. She sat down in the chair beside him and handed him a beer.
"Thanks...I use to always hide on the rooftop at the hospital." He said.
She smiled as she drank some of her own beer.
"Your own hidden sanctuary?"
"Sort of, but I was always found."
"It's chilly tonight... maybe we should have stayed for the 11:15 showing." She said as she leaned further back into her chair.
"No movie can match this." He said as he pointed the the lit up skyscrapers and the full moon above.
She turned to look at him. He had a soft smile playing on his lips. He turned his attention away from the skyline and on to her. He took off his blazer and handed it to her.
"Thanks." She said softly.

"Why did you disappear last night?" She asked him as she handed him a bowl of popcorn. They both had retreated from the roof to her apartment living room.
