I am happy for her too but I still don't like he's dating Lucas... I could have taken anybody, like I dunno even the stripper House sent her in 5x23, Wilson, Vogler's brother, a jew she met on church or however they call jew's temples... but Lucas? That really bugged me because Cuddy is a really mature woman and from what with they have shown of Lucas he's like the most immature guy Cuddy could have ever been with... I think that Cuddy deserves a man who she can't control, a man that is mature and someone who could be able to stablish a good relationship with and maybe Lucas can be that guy but in s5 he was obnoxious to me... Some people found him funny and well it's their two cents and these are mine so, no trouble with her having a relationship but just trouble with it being with Lucas...
I mean why didn't they hire some hot delivery guy? XDDD

Nice option, HB :)
I think it's good she's dating, but, only if she ends up with House in the end :)

I agree with huddysmacked concerning Lucas even though it makes perfect sense for her to be in a relationship with someone can't scare away.
But the fact that Cuddy is in a relationship for Rachael's sake is sth that I cannot digest easily. It may seem selfless and honourable, sth any mother would do for their child but when has any relationship which is based on the well-being of a 3rd party been successful? The wise quote from "No More Mr Nice Guy" is perfect here. She runs away from what she wants and has no clue what SHE needs. No matter what, she will continue to be miserable.
As much as I'm glad that her celibacy will come to an end, I want it to happen because she wants it for her and not Rachael.(that sounded so not right).
^^ I don't think that Cuddy is completely doing this for Rachel, but I do think that that's the excuse she's giving for why she's dating Lucas. Cuddy thinks she wants the perfect guy, she's always thought that she's going to get married, live in this quaint little cottage, raise some kids and live a "normal" life, but she's never really been given the opportunity for that, or has just "failed" in other relationships.
She's in love with House but he doesn't fit that box that she wants her man to fall into. She tried to give him the benefit of the doubt last year and that blew up in her face, so she's decided to just give up on him. She sees Lucas as a way into her perfect world and I think that his arc is going to show her that either her delusions are false and that that perfect world doesn't exist, or that she in fact doesn't need or actually want that, and so she'll pick House at the end of it.
I actually disagree with you, oldmovie. Cuddy abandoned the idea of waiting for the perfect man in s2 (Who's Your Daddy?) and that's why she started doing the IVF. She knew that she would never have the perfect conventional family. Lucas is everything but the perfect man. He's a PI, his job is dangerous and he has erratic work hours. How's that perfect?
Cuddy is simply settling down with Lucas (a lighter version of House) because she knows that she cannot rely on House. She gave up on that idea for Rachael's sake as House has been hostile towards her since the very beginning. So she's settling for a man that can accept both her and Rachael.
You said it, "just likes Lucas". This whole discussion is based on the small peak we saw of the episode. Instead of defending her relationship with Lucas, she was talking about why she can't be with House. I don't mind her dating. My problem is her motives.
Yeah but is Wilson question her now that House is back, now that House made a move, but then again, who the hell knowns when it comes to Cuddy and her motives.
Cuddy is full of contradictions

Why? Is so hard to belive that Cuddy just likes Lucas? And Lucas being nice to Rachel is a plus.
