Visual design problems

A big problem with electric car design is the body designs. In general, electric cars look silly. I would venture to say that most people would prefer to have an EV that looks like a normal car, rather than desiring to have something that looks different so everybody can know how "cool" you are to drive an EV. I mean, what are they thinking? "Let's make these great cars, but let's make them look stupid!" It's almost like the auto manufacturers are somehow conflicted about selling EVs...
