well eragon was named after the first rider so he got that name from Brom eldest he finds out for one thing that he has a brother and he (murteg) "inherits" Zar'oc Brisinger he got the sword form the tree and info from solumbum its his right as a rider to have a sword the color of this dragon and a sword mad for him
