Fanpop is not a popularity contest. It's commendable of you to try and help out a friend, but if floppyzoom wants fans, then he has to prove his worth on this site by adding quality content, making interesting and polite comments, and being friendly in general.

Just as you make friends in real life by getting out there and being nice and sociable, the best way to get fans on fanpop is to go out and talk to people. I'm sorry, but I never add a fanpop user as a fan unless I have a legitimate reason to do so. Asking me to be their fan, or even someone else asking me to be their friend's fan, is not, in my opinion, a legitimate reason.

I've added him, but no props are necessary. I like to add new users to help them feel welcome. To some people, a fan list is for people they're interested in forging real friendships with, but to others, they're just a list of people who are cool. So don't worry about it. There will be a lot of people who don't approve of this request or refuse to add your friend... but there will be some who do. I think it's sweet of you to want to help your friend feel welcome.
