It's been a while, well, it's not, but to other people it might seem like it. I've not died, I've not gone on extended vacation, Joe hasn't murdered me and left me in a basement until I've gone off (well... that's true except for the being in a basement). Admitedly I haven't posted nearly as much as I did around half a year ago, I sign in from time to time, leave a couple of comments and wander on my merry way again.
It wasn't that Fanpop got bad, it was just my own need for some time away, at the time Fanpop was going through what I like to see as its 'early teenage' stage, it was just discovering it could act out and be annoying, and certain members were too bothersome for me to care about, especially on a website I tried so carefully to help nurture into a positive place. The picks would've kept me around, but unfortunately it happened around the same time there was nothing major happening, good TV had stopped for the season, movies were slow, music was in its quiet period and I just generally found little interest.
Joe's kept me up to date and I was pleasantly surprised that people HAD noticed I seemed to have dissapeared, it's always nice to be wanted :) So I felt it was time to be a massive attention whore and get you people to know, I'm trying to come back for good. Just imagine Fanpop is the teenager and I was the parent working extra hours away in order to be a better parent whenever I could be around :P
I'm glad to see a lot of new faces (and those old faces that made me love this place in the first place) and I'm hoping I can convince people to help me out here. Having seen the 'roll call' thread, I've realised Fanpop needs to unite and bring people back! We're only as big as our active members, so maybe we should take time to bring back those people who made this place great at some point or another.
Me and Joe will probably resume our pick war, and I invite you to join us (I pray you use good spelling >_< ), that's what I came back for, for making interesting social comments and the wonderful questioning of the Fanpop fans!
