YESNO
This forum is for questions about how stuff works on Fanpop: how to use features, etc.
Looking through the forum in this spot, you can see that a lot of questions get asked over and over again, but since there are so many pages of forum threads, the answers can get lost. I propose this as a forum for users to ask questions about the site, which other users or even the staff can answer. Then users with a question can look at one thread in future, rather than having to repeat a thread or search through many many pages of forum threads.
i made questions for my spot Why So Serious? a batman thing and randomly my questions disappear til' i had about 8 left then when i was looking for them i found them they were on other batman spot and i cant get them back how do i fix that
erm KoolYung History..if your picks were reported as "miscategorized" you cant move them back because the f4 moved them.
i dont fully understand what spot they were in and where they are now but miscatgorized content is moved to keep fanpop- more or less-organized :)
My question is about Hulu. Is there some kind of partnership between Fanpop and Hulu? And does Hulu benefit from ratings? I have no problem rating the stuff I watch (that is actually in the right place!), I'm just wondering if it would be pointless to do so, or if there is any benefit for Hulu in getting their stuff rated?
there seems to be a kind of cooperation...no money involved they say...
actually its always funny how people rate for the user..i think rating should be telling other people aboot the quality of the content not make the poster happy :)
i dont rate hulu vids because they are not available to me(legally)
ok where does the email land if you report something via the contact us link?
i reported a broken quiz question ages ago and nothing happened...its just surprising because normally we get feedback so quickly if we report a problem. not complaining just wondering how it works..:)
I think it goes into an e-mail queue, separate from the reports queue. Sometimes they're fast to respond to e-mail, sometimes less so. Why did you report a broken question via e-mail, rather than through a report, though?
this is just a frustration i have, but ive added exactly 443 videos and 593 and counting images to the Brucas spot and i havnt gotten a dedicated fan medal, so should i keep adding more? idk what else to do
it'll take time, videos and images aren't everything. If they're great then people will rate/view/comment on then. There's all quizzes and picks you can make on the spot, if you post lots of good things that people will enjoy you'll get towards it quickly.
I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is a bug or not: in my updates, I'm not seeing forum threads that I've viewed, even though they've been updated more recently than the forum updates in my updates. Do updates disappear from My Updates once you view them?
okay this isn't so much a general question as a completely pointless one but i get that the props look like mini medals but what do the medals look like?
they're like odd wonky triangle, it's only just occurred to me how odd they look lol
Questioon: Is there any possibility of gaining ownership of an abandoned spot or something like that? I would appreciate it if you would let me know! It's just that i'm very confused about it! I would really like to make some changes to some spots and i just can't...TT.TT!
sophialover if there is something you would like to change e.g. banner, icon, i suggest you make a pick about it so see what others in the spot would like, maybe the spot creator will then come forward if not send what banner the fan have chosen in said pick to papa or dave and they will change it for you, as it is clearly stated in the FAQ that no one "owns" a spot :)
I saw this once before where someone made a forum post to the creator of the spot pointing out the error and also asking if the banner could be changed. After a few days they both were corrected. However in a spot where the user might not be so active this might not be the most practical solution, just an idea.
I've gone through that correction before. If the club was just created, I contact the club creator. If not, then pollyloveshouse has the right idea: write a note in the forum, then (after a reasonable time to allow for other fans to object/question your spelling) send a message to the Fanpop staff to have it corrected.
Reporting it, while possibly effective, is inconsiderate in instances where the spelling and/or punctuation is debatable, since the change happens with no discussion. That can result in a club name getting changed back and forth several times. This also applies to the images (logo, banner) and club description: it's just rude to change them without consulting the rest of the spot's users.
