Right, well the title is a bit sarcastic. The whole "trolling" thing is sorta annoying me that having a low rate on something HAS to mean you were trolled...well maybe there's a different reason. I'll break it up to why that might not have been a trolling...

Soapboxes
- Did you use proper grammar? Check your spelling
- What's a paragraph? Learn how to use paragraphs properly to make your soapbox formatted and not look like a 1 star article
- They may not agree or think your opinion is totally outrageous...not a trolling

Images
- Would you like that quality of a picture? Try and avoid small and bad quality looking images
- Credit? People will go and give you bad ratings if you don't credit
- Keywords, keywords, keywords...make them useful, using a few duplicates puts a frown on lots of faces

Videos
- Same from images, keywords are essential
- They video may not work (or they don't realise they have to click the lil blue arrow
- Is it in english? always helps or is the video in sync? (lips move when sound comes)

Links
- Would the link help you? If it wouldn't it might not be helping them and they're just letting others know
- Does the link go to the correct page? Sending someone off to different page from the title could result in bad rating

These are just a few things as to why you might have a bad rating on something. You didn't get trolled so put that knife down, they just might not agree with your opinion. Not the end of the world, at least they viewed your content which is something that's nice to know and I promise you that you won't die.

The anti-troll rhetoric here bothers me a bit, too...not so much because differing opinions are viewed as troll behavior (though that is irritating), but because virulent hysteria against even genuine trolls is as offensive as the original troll behavior. It is a bad way of rating if someone rates by a negative opinion (ie. i hate this character so 1 star) but then there's the opinion side of "you have no idea what you're talking about and didn't even research" 1 star. So it can be taken two ways. posted 4 months ago.
