I don't really like that idea. I think it's really good that we all have the same backgrounds I actually prefer it this way; but still, I really don't think changing backgrounds is necessary at all...
Oh, also, I think it would make Fanpop look rather messy and disorganized.
I'm saying yes but I'm not really that bothered (no offence meant). I'd just set it as the same as my laptop background. I kinda like that the layout is more or less the same all over fanpop. Maybe (And I know its been spoken about before) a user page banner that could be customised would give peoples pages more personality?
being able to personalise our profile backgrounds would be a cool idea indeed as it makes it less dull and more colourful to look at from a visual perspective. and so i'd say yes.
I'm not that bothered with the way our profiles are but I do like blinking and glittery stuff.

YEAH, I can hook up some serious 3-D flash effects strobe’s to make it look like Saturday Night Fever I can even have a little Disco Danny doing Russian Kazachok (Russian: Kaзaчoк) kicks! Around the spot!

A simple background would be nice, but nothing flashy, animated or graphic intensive. Maybe keep some limits on the image that can be used - 100x100 and 50kb or something. Then tile it.
Or maybe have a few site backgrounds, simple textured things, and let users choose between them. That could be nice, too. Just something to make our profiles a little more... personal :)
I don't think so. I'd rather us have the option to pick from say, 10 different color schemes or so that we can look at while we're browsing Fanpop. That way nobody can see our custom settings and/or get annoyed by really awful backgrounds, BUT we get more color! I'm not a 'white' kinda person I like my dark colors so being able to browse through fanpop with my favorite color brown would be super lovely!

*i am not on my profile very often so it doesnt really matter to me
*I like it this way because there is less competition on who has the best profile and people can focuse on adding things to spots and posting comments
*people would prop people just for there profile page
