Worse Case Scenario
It's harder to forgive than to forget,
vice-versa, either way, it's still a threat,
time passes, memory flashes,
you're rememberin'
thoughts are coming in
no way to escape it, its a no win.
drives you insane, you try to up your game,
tell yourself they'll regret it and they'll live in shame,
just cause they dragged your name,
across every damn lane,
and you got hurt every time, yeah you still in pain,
and it ain't the same, you all tense around them,
and more anger do you gain.
Deep down it's still hurtin' you
like every wound would,
it's like a throbbing cut
that keeps your eyes tight shut,
and you sound out a yelp like someone knocked your gut.
But the secret is to drop it,
drop down your walls,
drop down and fall,
you gotta break down,
and you cannot stall,
plus there's no one to call,
its just a lonely hall,
just a lonely hall and you,
but the pain will hurt for a while,
soon enough you'll be in denial, all the same,
somehow we'll find a way to end with a smile,
but this worse case scenario ain't something to pray for,
it's something to grieve more, for if it comes to reality
we'll be gone for sure.
Now this is where you gotta face the truth,
and it's the hardest thing to do,
cause these people that you were so used to,
had gone and abused you,
you sit there and wondering,
what the hell did I do?
But nor did they choose to,
or did they choose to, maybe they just wanted to lose you,
or maybe even use you?
And all that trust, just got sent down the drain,
and you can never look twice at them the same way again.
And the wound is fresh, and you're still a mess, as they act like nothing happened, but you still obsess,
as the pain aches in your chest,
and you look for relief when it's time to rest.
But even there, it continues to gnaw at your mind,
you can't escape it, and in all that you find,
you should've stayed away in the first place,
and you could've kept your sanity and your grace,
but tonight your regrets are thrown at your face,
and you can't find a damn single breathing space,
and your last straw is dropped without a trace.
But the secret is to drop it,
drop down and fall,
you gotta break down,
and you cannot stall,
plus there's no one to call,
it's just a lonely hall, just a lonely hall,
and you.
And the pain will hurt for a while,

So you decide to renew, to change up the deal,
push back all the things that you once did feel,
keeping distance was and still is the best way to go,
cause it's your only option, yes your only option,
and your only option alone,
the only thing to choose if you wanna make it home.
Cause this worse case scenario, oh this worse case scenario,
I am definitely not praying for, no,
cause it's already happened, and I'm already trapped 'n
