Beth Ditto headlines Fendi fashion bash in Paris!

Fendi, which rattled Paris Fashion Week last year with its exclusive and tres private Amy Winehouse concert, has got something equally incongruous up its raglan sleeve.

The fashion house plans yet another hip, cutting-edge musical send-off to Paris Fashion Week Fall 2009.

Since Amy Winehouse has been really busy going topless and stealing drinks from tourists on her tropical island vacay, Fendi had to scratch its head to come up with another alt-fashion style icon.

Voila, XXXL singer Beth Ditto and her band, the Gossip, headline the Fendi fashion event March 11.

The band will play new material just recorded in Portland for an album due out this summer.

First, it booked a wasted crack addict/alcoholic with rotted teeth who's into self-abuse.

Now we have the oh-so-exquisite fashion irony of a pint-size plus-sizer -- who likes to take off her clothes onstage -- performing for a shinbone-thin Fendi audience that subsists solely on ciggies and café noir.

What a strange world we live in ...
