Is it just me, or is there a serious lack of ratings on this site?
I don't know if the site's just stagnant and people aren't viewing the content or if Firefly fans just don't like to rate things. It seems to be across the board too. Images, videos, links. Not very many ratings unless it's several months old. I find that very sad.
Personally, I'd like to know whether or not the content I add is appreciated. I don't add it for myself, I add it to share it with other fans. If you don't like it, let me know by giving it a low rating! Let people know what you think.
The other thing is that I don't think there's enough discussion on picks. I usually make a pick in order to incite a discussion about that topic, but it just seems not too many people actually comment on picks in this spot.
We need to dust this site off and show our enthusiasm for Firefly! We're still Browncoats aren't we?

It was the day before River Tam's departure to the government sponsored school called the Academy, their slogan was: it is a haven for the gifted and extraordinary children of the Alliance. River could hardly contain her excitement. Her family was eating lunch outside on the patio that overlooked their flower garden Her parents were equally thrilled for her. Through they had heard nearly nothing about the school for it had just started around two years ago what they did know was that the school was extremely exclusive and had the most challenging educational programs. Before being enrolled in the Academy River went to the the Gen Ed school for the gifted children of Osiris. However when River heard about how challenging and advanced the Academy's programs were she immediately asked her parent's permission if she could be enrolled. Although Gen Ed had good programs River always felt that she was being educationally stifled in the school. After discussing it with her family River had made the decision to go. The only person who wasn't excited for her was Simon, her older brother. Ever since she could remember River had always been able to pick up on how other people were...

River Tam was stretched atop the ceiling of her bedroom abroad the space ship Serenity one thought drifted into River's mind all of a sudden. Why did the academy hurt me ? As graceful as a swan she slid down off form her position on the ceiling and said out loud to herself, “I must get this information form him.” She then walked slowly toward the medical bay where she would almost always find her brother working, or meticulously cleaning his space. Simon was again worried about his sister's mental state. It had seemed that she had gotten so much better. Ever since the crew had defeated the Operative and had posted the horrific news about the Alliance abused planet Miranda, it had seemed she had become the old playful, brilliant minded sister that he had always known. But he still knew that she had terrible nightmares and still questioned him as to why she was operated on at the Academy. It didn't help matters that every time she asked him about these things that he couldn't reveal the truth to her, Simon was worried that in her fragile state that River would have a psychotic break and be wrenched away form him and the world. He didn't want that to happen ever again. Even...
