I have a magazine subscription. What sucks is that you need to subscribe separately to the website (for extra $$$). I wish they just had a single combined subscription. Then I'd use the website more.
I should mention that the magazine, on its own, is totally worth it.
i used to subscribe to that magazine. too pseudo highbrow. ("most recipes call for 1/2c. cream, but we experimented with different quantities and settled on 5/16c. as the perfect amount.")
Here's my issue with them. They Americanize all recipes so they become blander rather than more authentic versions of the originals. They're very narrowly focused on mainstream, e.g. when rating Oregano they never went outside name brand mega mart Orgeganos. (I found a sustainable harvest/fair trade oregano that's SUPERIOR to any I've had...)
There are, however, tips here and there that bring me back. It's pretty formulaic and I agree pseudo-highbrow...a bowtie does not an authority make...
